It was so frustrating to me that there wasn’t a fitness program out there that worked, was fun to do and didn’t take much of my time.

Myth #1: It’s all about the workout

Let me explain you what makes our bodies burn calories:

Most other trainers focus just on that 10%…. our workouts at Total Body Bootcamp are designed to focus on that 70%. How do we do that? Well we do exercises (including that Tabata protocol) that will explode our metabolism through the roof!

Myth #2: you need to workout hours to lose weight

You do if you use running as your primary exercise method… Cardio workouts like other boot camps and Zumba classes do is not time-efficient for calorie burn. What is?

Meaning when your body is done with high intensity exercise it needs a higher level of oxygen. As a result of the intense exercise your body has been depleted of a number of different sources of energy and must replenish them. You have depleted creatine phosphate , ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and glycogen. You have depleted your body of oxygen. Now you may be thinking that as soon as you catch your breath that you have recovered oxygen. But this is not so. The oxygen depletion that I am referring to is the depletion of oxygen from your red blood cells. Your blood is oxygenated and during exercise you use up a good part of the oxygen to break down food substrates so that it can be used for energy during your workout. So even after intense exercise is complete your body continues to expend energy to replenish the oxygen in your blood stream. THIS IS WHY EPOC IS SO CRITICAL TO YOU BURNING FAT

Myth #3: you need to diet intensively

Well this depends on the time frame you want to lose weight. I’ve made dozens of different non-diets to help you lose weight even faster. I came up with my High Five Meal Plan consisting of just 5 rules! And you can even eat your burgers and chips! Seriously!!

What is a bootcamp and what can I expect?

A bootcamp is a group fitness program that offers a value-rich way to get in the best shape possible. You can expect traditional bodyweight exercises, resistance training, cardiovascular exercises, and flexibility segments all rolled into one amazing workout.

What’s great about going to Total Body BootCamp?

Most boot camps are held in parks and are vulnerable to bad weather.  Our boot camp is held indoors in a gymnastic facility with a spring loaded floor. So not only are we safer on your joints, we’re protected from the elements, too!  You’re also part of a community or fitness family, so no longer do you have to feel alone to overcome obstacles or accomplish your goals.  Our 45 minute workouts are also total-body, so you can kiss boring 60 minute cardio sessions good-bye.

What are the days and hours of operation?

We are open every day of the week: Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays at 6:00AM-6.45 AM and 7.00AM – 7.45AM. This is for both the Glen Innes and Mount Roskill location. Are there showers in the facility?

I’m not the in the best of fitness condition. Can I still do this?
